Helen Herbert is an observer of people and places, and the relationship between individuals and their surroundings. Her paintings are not literal representations, but instead, captures mood and atmosphere
.
The sea has always influenced her work, s she was brought up by on the east coast of Scotland and now lives by the shoreline of North Norfolk. Helen paints in oils usually on-site and makes dozens of sketches wherever she goes.
Trained at the Cambridge School of Art she illustrated children's books for 15 years winning numerous awards for her books, paintings, drawings and prints. Helen exhibits widely in Britain and abroad, most recently in Atlanta, U.S.A. Her work is in may collection worldwide.
